CONSERVATION & EDUCATION

I am committed to ethical story telling for wildlife conservation and education about wildlife and photography. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with our young future nature photographers and birders.

Grebe Conservation

For years Lake Hodges in San Diego, California has been home to hundreds of nesting grebes. Once a migratory visitor to the lake in the winter these birds have now taken up permanent residence. It is now an eco-destination for viewing the Grebes and their myriad of courtship behaviors. Please click Learn more button to read about the conservation program.

Girls Who Click & Mentorship

Wildlife and Landscape Photography Mentorhip Program for all ages. One-on-one and through "Girls Who Click", a wonderful organization inspiring young girls to develop a lifelong passion for capturing the nature around them and striving to protect it.

Bald Eagle Tales

The story of a successful and happy Bald Eagle Family in San Diego County. Nesting Bald Eagles are a rare sight in San Diego County. In 2016 there was no reported Bald Eagle nesting in San Diego (US Fish and Wildlife).

Since 2018 I have been documenting this young pair in San Diego. Click on Learn more to read the story.

Bird of the Month

A new series where I will feature a specific bird each month and share some photos and info about them.

The Birds of Lake Hodges

A guide I wrote on some of Lake Hodges avian residents and visitors.

Native Plant Guide

Currently in final review - this guide will help you identify native plants in the San Dieguito River Park.

School Birding

The (school) Back-yard birding program at Sundance Elementary School in Poway CA is a huge sucess!

I was thrilled to be able to design over 28 educational posters for the school birding program.
