The BEST months to be in Scotland for the Atlantic Puffins are May, June & July. Puffins come on land to nest, they arrive to the Islands in May and leave mid August. For more photos from my tours please scroll down on this page.

In 2025 I will be offering a few different options. Tour I is 10 days/ 9 nights, follows my Ireland Tour so you can do both if you like. Tour II and Tour III are my traditional Puffin / Wildlife/ Landscape tours. Tour IV is my new Ultimate Scotland Tour - 2 weeks of the best of the best in Scotland, wildlife, landscapes, castles (and we are staying in a castle!) and the Mull Highland Games. THE ULTIMATE SCOTLAND TOUR - Two weeks around Scotland, the best of the best wildlife, landscapes, castles and the Mull Highland Games!

Atlantic Puffins, Northern Gannets, White-tailed Eagles, Red Kites, and amazing landscapes. Isle of Mull, Isle of Skye, Highlands, North-East Coast and between. Wildlife, landscapes, castles and yes, we are staying in a castle! This tour also includes the Mull Highland Games.

Includes: All accommodation, breakfasts, welcome bag, welcome dinner and drink, tuition, entrance fees for scheduled tour activities, ferry fees and all transport during the tour. Boat trips included to photograph the Puffins, Razorbills, Guilemots and their friends. Comfortable and spacious transportation to hold all the photography luggage - a big van.

  • Get close and personal with the Puffins. Over 4000 Puffins nest on the Island we will be visiting. Two boat trips are included in price and we will be just a few feet from these cuties.

  • Gannets! Thousands of Gannets nest on the North-East coast of Scotland and you will be right there photographing them.

  • Capture the spirit and mood of some of the most dramatic landscapes in Scotland around Glencoe and Fort William.

  • Wander around the Cairngorms National Park, photographing the Red Squirrel and all the little birds.

Based in San Diego CA Krisztina Scheeff is an award-winning and professional nature photographer. Recognized for her photographic work in National Audubon Society as well as a finalist in the prestigious Wildlife Photograph of the Year competition, Krisztina’s photos have been published in magazines and articles around the world, including National Geographic, Wild Planet Photo Magazine, California 101, San Diego Audubon Society, American Wild Magazine, Birders Digest, Marine Conservation Magazine – UK, North American Nature Photography Association, and more. They have also been featured in Art Shows and Galleries around the country.

 

Krisztina operates a successful business leading Photography Workshops and Tours to Scotland (Puffins), Ireland, Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Hungary, Bosque del Apache. She also leads workshops for Bird Festivals around the country and presents at various events.  

 

Krisztina spent years studying and photographing the Rushing Grebes and guides her clients at Lake Hodges in San Diego to experience this amazing behavior and capture their own photos.

Accommodation

Great quality hotels & Bed and Breakfasts, lodges.

 

Meals

All breakfasts are included. Lunches and evening meals will be by flexible arrangement but the aim will be to experience good quality Scottish cuisine in all our locations. Individuals are welcome to make their own arrangements if they want of course.

 

Fitness

Moderate fitness level required. There may be times when you will have the option to be working on exposed, uneven ground, including cliffs which will require you to be sure-footed with good balance. A reasonable level of fitness and agility will allow you to participate in most activities, for the Puffins however you will need to climb over some rocks and a hill. Moderate fitness level is required.

To this end please makes sure you have sturdy waterproof boots, waterproof and warm outdoor clothing including gloves and hats.

 

The weather

It’s Scotland! As they say “if you don’t like the weather wait 5 minutes”, but do expect variable conditions, including sunshine, wind and rain. After all it’s what makes Scotland what it is.

Tuition & Your Guide

Your guide Krisztina has many years of photographic experience. For those requiring assistance, they will be on hand to take you through both technical and practical aspects of your photography to ensure you get the most from your photo tour.

 

Deposits & Cancellation Policy for all workshops and tours:

  • Deposit is required at the time of enrollment with full payment due on date specified for each workshop or tour. Deposit amounts noted on each workshop - tour detail page. 

  • Deposit and tour/workshop fees are non-refundable.

  • If you cancel and the photo workshop is full and someone from the waiting list can take your spot, your tuition is fully refundable minus a 15% cancellation fee.

  • We are not responsible for cancellations due to medical or other reasons.

  • No fees will be refunded if you withdraw after the photo workshop begins.
